Being mindful of what we’re putting into our bodies is more important now than ever. It’s so hard to keep track of what’s used to grow produce, what’s added to prepared foods and what exactly we’re eating, sometimes it can feel like a daily struggle just to source pure and organic foods. Your best bet is usually farmers markets or finding specific organic stores. Unfortunately, we can’t always count on our supermarkets to provide healthy produce that hasn’t been subjected to lots of different chemicals.

To help will purchasing the best clean foods, Change in Seconds have created the following infographic – ‘Eat Clean With This Complete Grocery Shopping List’. You don’t need to rush out and buy everything on the list but it is a very useful guide for finding and buying whole foods as close as possible to their natural state without chemicals, pesticides, artificial flavors etc.

Once you’ve sourced your food, you need to know the best way to use it, here are the main points covered:

1. Try to steam, bake, grill or eat foods raw.

2. Fill the majority of your plate with fresh vegetables.

3. Avoid processed sugars and refined food.

4. Drink 1/3 your body weight in lbs of water every day in ounces (oz.).

i.e. 200 lbs x 33% = 66 oz (equivalent to 8 cups)

5. Combine protein with carbs to stay full longer.

6. Do not count calories just watch portion sizes.

Always remember to purchase items made with natural ingredients. If it is impossible to locate an item that can’t be purchased store bought without processed ingredients i.e. ketchup or mustard, make it home made.

Avoid processed foods and learn to be mindful of everything that goes into your food. The rule of thumb is, if you can’t tell exactly what goes into something and where it comes from, then you’re better off making it from scratch at home.

With that being said, here’s the ultimate clean eating grocery shopping infographic.
