Smoothies can be a fantastic source of nutrition, if they’re made with the right ingredients! If you’re a smoothie fan, you may be sick of kale at this stage. It’s easy to fall into the habit of drinking the same one over and over again, due to convenience and speed. Some people see a green smoothie and automatically think it’s not going to taste great at all…
However, Abbot Nutrition have developed the following infographic detailing 5 delicious green smoothies that you probably haven’t tried before. They consist of the following:
- Green Tea Machine
- Spirulina Sipper
- Edamame Energizer
- Kiwi Protein Pinch
- Spinach Special
Mixing up the ingredients with the addition of foods such as green tea gives the smoothie an extra health boost. Green tea is known for its numerous health properties including reducing inflammation and preventing life threatening illnesses such as heart disease. If you’re one of the people that can’t bear to sip green tea on it’s own, incorporating it into a smoothie means you get all the benefits with delicious flavour.
If you haven’t discovered the joys and convenience of smoothies then definitely give these a try. They’re really handy breakfasts and especially useful for people on the go. If you’re a fitness fanatic it’s also a great way to add some extra protein into your diet to allow you muscles to re-energise. See the Kiwi Protein Punch below for example. Kiwi’s are a superfood and are clever additions in a smoothie as they tend to be the strongest tasting (masking the taste of less pleasant tasting, but healthy ingredients) as well as containing a massive amount of vitamin C.
